Celebrating the work of Dr. T’Anya Carter

An honorary award for a CRNA doing legacy work.

The August 2022 AANA Updates highlights a newly created award to honors the spirit and work of our friend and colleague Dr. T’Anya Carter.

Excerpt from the AANA:

In 2021, T’Anya Carter, PhD, CRNA, earned her doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Carter’s dissertation related to barriers to reentry to practice for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) following substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. Less than a year later, UAB’s School of Nursing’s (UABSON) PhD program has decided to honor Dr. Carter’s contributions and impact with the creation of the T’Anya Marye Carter Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Award.

We already KNOW Dr T'Anya Carter is a force. We celebrate your accomplishments & are so PROUD of you!!!
